Hello creative souls. Tammy here (aka Tambarambaa) sharing my latest colorful Art Journal Page.
This one is titled…..”Well behaved women seldom make history”. Such a great mantra!
TCW provided me with some amazing goodies to play with, but the opinions and the art are solely my own.
So let’s take a look at how this one developed…..
Firstly I applied a layer of TCW9001 White Gesso to my page.
Whilst drying, I selected a cool image and some collage paper from a pack designed by a good friend of mine Tanya Froud. The pack is called ‘Rebellion’ and its a digital download, so you just print at home. You can find the pack HERE.
I cut out what I wanted and adhered them with TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium, ensuring I coated both the back and front. Applying a layer on top allows me to add paints and other mediums over the image if I wish.
I then laid whacked down some soft pink acrylic paint in 3 (yep the magic number!) areas over my page. I used a dry brush and swiped the paint down. Working quickly before the paint dries, I lay down stencil TCW780 Botanical Dream (one of my most used stencils ever!) and then rubbed a wet baby wipe through the stencil, removing some of the paint.
I then repeated added some pale blue paint, some yellow paint and finally some black paint, and again removed some of the paint through stencils.
I used TCW2317 Fence Grid and TCW936 Messy Writing
At this point, I felt I had added too much paint, and had left no white space so I grabbed TCW9001 White Gesso, and added a bit more white into the page to remove some of the color and pattern. Problem solved!
Now I added some gorgeous hot pink, but this time I sponged it through the stencil TCW2314 Punch Card Slimline using a dry makeup sponge – just some light dabbing.
I love the effect I got where it mixed with the pale blue paint and left a gorgeous shade of purple. Those moments of magic are the BEST!
That made everything POP!
Now I added some splats, some paint around the edge of the page and a quote using TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium. Oh and I added some color to that girl. I used Inktense pencils to color her in.
That’s it! A fun page with a touch of vibrant attitiude!
I hope you can play around with some color, and I also hope you are misbehaving a little too!
