Art Journal Page – Blue

Hello TCW Crafters

Loved jumping into my art journal today and getting into The Crafter’s Workshop products… 3 great stencils and 2 fab mediums bring this art journal spread together. All in an almost monochromatic BLUE!

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

The Crafter’s Workshop products used within this project:

TCW945 – Starflower Net
TCW944 – Monarch Journal
TCW704 – Cone Flowers
TCW9004 – Light & Fluffy modeling paste
TCW9009 – Black modeling paste

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, or you just don’t have much time…. you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is how the page came together step-by-step…

1 – I begin with a blank page and a super dark teal. I am using Atelier Interactive and Derivan Matisse Structure acrylics in this project. I begin with Matisse – Midnight Blue at the bottom of the page. I then grab TCW945 – Starflower Net and stencil through with the same colour.

2 – I next grab TCW944 – Monarch Journal and TCW9004 – Light & Fluffy modeling paste. I stencil through with the texture paste on the left side of the double spread. I make sure it is completely dry before moving on to the next step

3 – Using watercolours, I pool colour over the TCW9004 – Light & Fluffy modeling paste and onto the right hand page, adding some splatters aswell.

4 – I stencil a little more through TCW945 – Starflower Net on the right hand page and add some light grey – Atelier Pastel Mist to the page. I dry the entire page completely before moving to the next step.

5 – TCW704 – Cone Flowers is a super favourite stencil. I use TCW9009 – Black modeling paste and stencil through a selection of flowers so there are 5 silhouettes on the right hand page

6 – I stamp out a large butterfly from Darkroom Door – Spread Your Wings stamp set and attach to the centre of the TCW944 – Monarch Journal circle. I add some colour to the butterfly and also to some large words which I add to the pages with double sided foam squares

7 -Finally, I add some pastel lilac watercolour splatters and paint along with some mini pencil flowers around the page and call it done

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the process video. Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own art journal page using TCW stencils and pastes

Enjoy!
