A SIMPLE THANKS – AN ART JOURNAL PAGE

Hello folks, Nancy here, and welcome to my final post as a member of The Crafter’s Workshop Design Team. It’s been a very full year; full of wonderful products, endless inspiration and the honor of working alongside amazing artists. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I’ve enjoyed, but I will bid adieu with “a simple thanks.”

I hope you enjoy this tutorial for an art journal page using great new stencils and heavy body acrylic paints from The Crafter’s Workshop.

Apply a wash of TCW white gesso diluted with water. At first I tried a dry brush application of gesso, but wasn’t happy with the result. A wash of gesso gave me the desired result, which was to calm the colors and frenzy of the background so as not to interfere with the featured stencil design yet to come.

Add “Thanks” from TCW Happy Greetings stencil. Using a fine line marker and raspberry colored pencil add a hanging heart from the stenciled word. Add black ink to the edges of the journal page as a frame.
