FAMILY LAYOUT/NICOLE MARTEL

Good morning friends! Today, I’m sharing a fall layout I created using the TCW988 Leafy Collage Stencil to create a fun ombre background using ink and a blending brush.

To create this background, I selected two shades of orange ink. I colored the entire cardstock with the lighter shade so that I would not have white lines after I blend in the send orange through the stencil.

Disclaimer: “The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.”

Next, I taped down the ends over white cardstock to prevent the stencil from slipping during the ink blending process.

After that, I used a blending brush to blend in the ink across the page, alternating the colors to create an ombre effect down the page.

This is super simple to do and oh, so fun!! I just love watching the ink colors bring the stencil to life…

You can barely see the difference between the two colors, but it really helps with adding shadows and depth to the leaves. See what I mean…when I lift the stencil. SO PRETTY!!

I’m so pleased with how this layout turned out. It turned out exactly how I initially envisioned. Love when that happens. It doesn’t always turn out as plan. LOL.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you found this post inspiring!
