Any Stencil Can Create a Background

Did you know that whatever TCW stencil your own, you can create a gorgeous background with it. Today, I’m going to show you how I created backgrounds on tags with one stencil, TCW2327 Dandelion Puffs. Here is the stencil and three tags I cut out of white cardstock.

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

The first tag I started by only using the stems and grass on the stencil with blue acrylic paint.

I moved the stencil in a different direction and added for of the same with green acrylic paint.

I flipped the stencil to the other side and added a different shade of blue acrylic paint and then added the Dandelions in florescent pink. This background is done.

My next tag I used the Dandelions and the stems to create this next background.

Here is the finished tag. I love this background. As you can see, I don’t clean my stencils. On my next background you’ll see why.

For my last stencil, I only used the Dandelion heads and the leaves. I don’t clean my stencils because when you use them it pulls off all the colors you used. Here I used white paint but there is green and blue paint and amazing textures.

I continued to add more Dandelions and leaves to finish this background.

Remember when creating anything with TCW stencils, FLIP OVER THE STENCIL! It creates great effects!

As I’ve shown you any stencil can create gorgeous backgrounds for tags, cards, canvas, and art journals. The list goes on and on. I challenge you to create a background with a stencil you never thought could be a background. Tag us so we can see it!

If you use TCW Stencils, stamps and mediums in your art, we would love it see it. Please share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.
