Hi everyone, Tammy (aka Tambarambaa) here today to share another brightly colored creation.
As the countdown to Christmas continues, I thought I’d share a festive Art Journal Page. One of the things I love about all the magic at this time of year is the lights, so thought I’d create a vibrant page to celebrate this.

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to create with, but the ideas and art are solely my own.
For those of you who know my work, you know I love bright colors, so my Christmas page is no different. In fact let’s go all out and create with Neons!!

So let’s see how it came together…
I began by applying TCW9001 White Gesso onto a page in my Art Journal.
I then grabbed some Neon Colours – I used Art by Marlene in ‘Wow’, ‘Funky’, ‘Boom’ and applied them randomly to the background using a brayer.

Time to add some stencils……
First I lay down TCW382 Garden Gate and using aqua paint and a make-up sponge (I used ‘Mermaid’ by Art by Marlene), I sponged some in three separate areas of my page.

I then repeated this using a few different stencils and paint colors. The main thing to remember is that you want to ensure you have patterns that are small, medium and larger in your stamping and a mix of shapes.
I used TCW876 Screen View by Rebekah Meier with ‘Smurf’ Paint which is a deep blue.
I also used TCW2317 Fence Grid Slimline by Rebekah Meier with purple ‘Punk’ paint.
Plus TCW810 Blooming Garden by Art by Marlene with both pink and aqua paint.

Ok that completes the background…..

Next I grab one of the 11×14 inch stencils – TCW2917 Merry Lights . I lay this across the page a couple of times and using TCW9002 Black Gesso, I sponged through the stencil to create the funky Christmas Light shapes.

I decided to add a title using a couple of different stencils.
I began with TCW880 Merry Tree, and sponged just the ‘Christmas’ section with Black Gesso.
I then placed underneath this TCW881 Reindeer Joy and sponged the ‘Joy’ section.
Finally I added a few stars in clusters around the title using TCW2302 Star Sparkle Slimline.

I then sponged Black Gesso around the edge of the page to frame it.
Something you might not know about Neon paints, is that they are translucent, so as you add layers of stencil patterns, they don’t cover one another up. I love all the stencils and colors peeking through.

There you have it….. a simple yet funky Christmas Art Journal Page.

That’s it from me today, and actually that’s it from me for 2021! I’ll be back in 2022 to share more colorful art with you all.
Thankyou for all your support and encouragement during 2021. It’s just the best feeling when you guys get in contact and let me know that you are inspired by my creations. A heartfelt thankyou, and wishing you a magical Christmas!
