Art Journal Page – Peace

Hello TCW crafters

This is my last TCW Design Team project for 2021 and it is not long until the festive season will be well upon us. So, today I have created a Christmas wishes page using the Country Christmas bundle that TCW has on special at the moment. This is a kit is designed to make cards but I am using it to create a journal page.

Merry Christmas to you all! Hope you enjoy what I create! – See you on the other side 🙂

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

The Crafter’s Workshop used within this page:

TCW951 – Happy Holly Tree
TCW881 – Reindeer Joy
TCW922 – Ethereal
TCW5033 – Reindeer
TCW5034 – Single Star
TCW5004 – Star Shower
TCW585 – Inspired Words
TCW9002 – Black Gesso
TCW9064 – Turquoise Stencil Butter
TCW9061 – Chartreuse Stencil Butter
TCW9080 – Champagne Gold Stencil Butter
TCW9025 – Plastic Palette Knife

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go shead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is how the page came together step-by-step…

1 – Begin with a full page painted with TCW9002 – Black Gesso

2 – Stencil through TCW951 – Happy Holly Tree in a variety of acrylic colours. I use Dina Wakley Media heavy body acrylics in Lapis, Ocean, Peacock, Evergreen and Lime

3 – Stencil through the 12×12 TCW951 – Happy Holly Tree with TCW9064 – Turquoise Stencil Butter. On the alternate side paint a triangle the same size as the small 6×6 TCW951 – Happy Holly Tree and then stencil through with TCW9061 – Chartreuse Stencil Butter

4 – On a sheet of separate paper of card stencil through TCW5034 – Single Star with TCW9080 – Champagne Gold Stencil Butter. Dry completely and fussy cut close to the star to adhere on top of each of the trees.

5 – Sprinkle some silver leaf over the almost dried TCW9064 – Turquoise Stencil Butter to add a little shine. Blow and brush off any excess.

6 – Next I painted a triangle of DWM Lime acrylic over the top of the dried TCW9064 – Turquoise Stencil Butter. This is not the most efficient way to do this and it may have been better perhaps, to paint the triangle first. However, it did create some interesting monoprint type textures once the lime colour has been wiped away with a baby wipe.

7 – Add some lettering using TCW585 – Inspired Words. Stencil through the word PEACE with TCW9080 – Champagne Stencil Butter. Make sure to dry thoroughly.

8 – Using TCW5033 – Reindeer & TCW881 – Reindeer Joy, stencil through with TCW9080 – Champagne Stencil Butter, but rather then using a palette knife use a make up sponge and sponge through as if the texture paste was just normal paint

9 – To create the starry night effect I used TCW922 – Ethereal with the same TCW9080-Champagne Gold Stencil Butter. I also stencilled through TCW5004 Star Shower with some Versamark embossing ink and embossed over the stars with black embossing powder

10 – Once the stars were embossed I decided to emboss the reindeer with clear embossing powder. This ended up giving the deer a deep black outline and deepened the gold colouring of the stencil butter

11 – Lastly I add some watercolour to achieve a little shadow around the trees and some prismacolor pencil to edge each of the trees

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page. Hopefully it gives you inspiration to try some of the special Christmas bundles that TCW have available on their website or use some of the fab TCW stencils and texture pastes in your next projects

Enjoy!

Dani x
