Candy Munchers Halloween Art Journal Page

Candy Munchers Halloween Art Journal Page by Renae Davis

It’s October peeps! Time to indulge in all the Halloween munchies! You may not be into monsters and goblins but a whole lot of candy in the stores sure does sweeten the deal!

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

In my art journal, I sprayed Dylusions ink sprays (Bubblegum Pink, Tangerine Dream, Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, Vibrant Turquoise, London Blue, Laidback Lilac) through 12×12 TCW944 Monarch Journal Stencil. I chose this one because it sorta looks like a lollipop and sorta looks like a spider web- the best of both worlds for this particular layout.

As a bonus, I placed recycled one sided paper on top of the stencil before lifting to soak up the extra ink and made two background sheets I can use for another project!

I splattered some watered down black acrylic paint as a second layer for the layout and added black spider web washi tape around the edges to help frame the spread.

These little monsters you see here are not stickers- they’re actually window clings I found on super duper clearance (9¢) at the dollar store after Halloween. I used a clear permanent glue stick (Scotch is my favorite) to adhere the clings to scrap pieces of white card stock. They can be glued down straight to the layout itself without the card stock, but you would still see some of the background peeking through and I wanted these little guys to really stand out. I also drew a very thin black line around the edges to help them pop out just enough without being too lost in the background. I then finished the layout by adding die cut alpha title! Easy peasy!
