Art Journal Page – Bloom

full page bloom - TCW450 Art Deco Flowers TCW246 Swiss Dot

Hiya TCW friends!

After days and days of wet weather here in Sydney, I chose to create a bright, cheery page featuring TCW450 Art Deco Leaves and TCW246 Swiss Dot. I hope all that rain helps the flowers to BLOOM!

– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is a step-by-step so you can see how the page came together…

1 – Begin with a random, partial covering of yellow and red acrylic paint. Then, using TCW450 Art Deco Leaves 12 x 12 stencil, spray some magenta spray paint through the stencil.

2 – To create some texture, I pull away some of the spray paint color, by pressing some scrap paper to the paint whilst it is still a little wet. Then I use a lighter magenta acrylic paint and stencil through the stencil again.

3 – Next, I move to the other side of the journal page and stencil through with turquoise and teal acrylic paint.

4 – I grab the 6×6 of TCW450 Art Deco Leaves and stencil through, on the right hand side, a small section with the teal paint.

5 – I mix fluorescent green paint pen with TCW9052 Super thick gel to stencil through TCW246 Swiss Dot stencil. These dots should stand out from the background.

6 – Fussy cut various sizes of stamped flowers and arrange cross the centre of the page diagonally.

7 – Choose an alphabet stamp. Stamp a word out that you want to use and cut out the letters to create a handmade stencil. Using TCW9064 Turquoise stencil butter stencil through the words, create a stand-out, shiny, metallic title.

8 – Watercolor wash across the flowers in oranges, yellows and reds. Keep it light. Attach flowers and sentiment/word to the page with double sided foam squares.

I hope you have enjoyed this walkthrough of my art journal page. Hopefully it puts a smile on your face and gives you some inspiration to get into your own art journal to use some fab TCW stencils and pastes.

Until next time… have fun creating!
