Hello Dear Friend Stamped Art Decor

In this bright and hopeful new year, The Crafter’s Workshop released some brand new stamp sets that are just dying to be used! All of the new stamps released work so well together, it’s hard not to want to use them all at the same time. This project is an easy one (great for beginners) using the designer stamps, Perfect Pearls and a technique that can apply to most any papercrafting project .

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Using a ruler and a pencil, square off the center of the page onto a black sheet of card stock. Place a sticky note (I used a 4×4″) in the middle and trace around the sticky note with the pencil.

For the stamping, you will need VersaMark ink (clear embossing ink), an acrylic block and various stamp sets. I started with the top two flowers from TCW2208 Precious Sentiments 4×6 Clear Stamps.

Stamp over various places of the page with the first flower stamp. Be sure to stamp around the edges of the paper as well as around the sticky note (it’s ok to stamp over the sticky note- that’s what it’s there for.) I tried to stamp at least 2-3 times in each quadrant. Repeat this process with the second flower from the same stamp set.

I used the grouped flower stamp from TCW2202 Love You 4×6 Clear Stamps to stamp in between the bigger gaps of the page, being sure to overlap flowers. I used the smaller flower from the same stamp set to fill in any remaining gaps on the page.

Here is the completed stamped background part of the page. Check to make sure that flowers are overlapping, the edges aren’t bare and there are no large gaps of blank space on the page.

For the next set, you need 3 coordinating colors of Ranger Perfect Pearls Medium and the two Perfect Pearl brushes, both small and large. The colors used in this project are: Forever Red, Perfect Bronze, and Perfect Gold.

With the small brush, tap into the Pearl color jar of your choice and top of the excess. Apply the medium over a stamped section of the page in a swirling motion. Apply a second color next to the first color laid down and blend the two. Repeat with the third color and continue this process all over the page.

Now that the page is covered in Perfect Pearl Powder, use the bigger fluffier brush to burnish the powder into the ink and to brush off any excess from the page. Brush the page firmly with a sweeping motion over the entire page.

Bonus, don’t waste the leftover dust on your craft surface! Spray the remaining powder with a few spritzes of water and use a scrap sheet of paper (dark colors work best) to soak up the shimmer.

Here is the completed background! Remove the sticky note from the page and carefully erase the middle gridlines from the center square but NOT the square lines. Those will be traced in the next step.

For the middle square, draw around the initial square line from the sticky note with the Perfect Pearl Medium marker (embossing marker) and an additional inset line towards the center of the square.

Stamp the Hello Friend Sentiment from the TCW2203 Missing You 4×6 Clear Stamps set with the VersaMark clear ink in the middle of the square.

Apply gold embossing over the drawn square lines and the stamped sentiment in the middle. If the embossing powder sticks to some of the stamped flowers, brush away the excess with a clean DRY brush before heat setting with a heat tool.

For the final touch, stamp the tiny leaves with VersaMark clear ink from the TCW2203 Missing You 4×6 Clear Stamps set along the inset line of the black square. Apply Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls over top and brush away the excess.

To remove the final excess of powder, buff the page with an ultra soft, clean and dry cloth. The car mits from the dollar store work great!

Since the Perfect Pearls have a resin base in the powder, the powder will not ultimately rub off the paper but feel free to spray your final product with a clear coated sealant such as Kamar Varnish.

Here is the completed project page with no filter shining in the light. This technique would be gorgeous for any home decor, card making and even art journals. If you’ve never worked with Perfect Pearls, I encourage you to give them a try! They are such an underrated, yet easy-to-use medium.

  1. What a beautiful project, and great idea for using Perfect Pearls! I have some and rarely use them, so you have inspired me to take them out and try them! Your directions were very clear, thank you! 🙂
