Hiya TCW Crafters!
Another day of fun with The Crafter’s Workshop products… great stencils and fab mediums bring this art journal spread together – with Wings!
– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –
Supplies I used:
- TCW792 – Micro Dots
- TCW925 – Nature’s Circuitry
- TCW5023 – Brocade
- TCW5016 – Quattrefoil
- TCW9001 – White Gesso
- TCW9002 – Black Gesso
- TCW9004 – Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste
TCW925 – Nature’s Cricuitry TCW5016 – Quattrefoil TCW5023 – Brocade TCW792 – Micro Dots
Of course, as usual, If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.
Here is how it went, step-by-step…
1 – Start by painting TCW9002 – Black Gesso across the bottom of both pages diagonally
2 – Using TCW9001 – White Gesso and a dry brush. Dry brush small circles with a small amount of paint to dull down the black color.

3 – Mix up some turquoise paint with some TCW9001 – White Gesso to make a light mint color and stencil through TCW792 – Micro Dots
4 – Cookie & Cake stencil TCW5023 – Brocade is used next and stenciled through with a thick amount of TCW9004 – Light & fluffy modeling paste – 5 times across the spread

5 – Draw a loose, scribbly, flowery line across the page using a black Stabilo-All pencil.
6 – Whilst waiting for the pages to fully dry, stencil, in blue and turquoise, a butterfly to use as a focal point. I used TCW925 – Natures Circuitry stencil.

7 – Next, using another C&C stencil, TCW5016 – Quattrefoil with Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic – Night, over the foggy black gesso.

8 – Once the modeling paste is fully dry. Water down some light pink acrylic or watercolor paint and pool this over the TCW9004 – Light & fluffy modeling paste. Splat some color over the page aswell. Do the same with some deep pinks and reds also.

9 – DWM gloss sprays can be used to draw by removing the cap and using the tube like a pen. Draw some flowery scribbles and doodles with Marine gloss spray. Lastly, add some fluorescent yellow splats to brighten up the page.
10 – I use some soft chalk pastels in mint and blue to add a touch of color to the edge of the TCW9002 – Black gesso
11 – Finally, adhere the TCW925 – Nature’s Circuitry butterfly to the left side of the spread and add some words to its wings

I also completed this same design within my Strathmore mixed media journal using a different stencil… TCW865 – Asian floral. You can see what that looks like here:

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the video. Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own page using these wonderful TCW products.
