Faux Letterpress with Stencils

Hi everyone! It’s Lindsay here from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog and YouTube Channel and I am so excited to share my project with you all! It’s all about using stencils for a faux letterpress look on your paper crafting projects.

Not too long ago I shared a video tutorial on how to dry emboss with your stencils, you can find that HERE, and this is essentially the same process. You are just adding pigment ink to the stencil before you emboss with it. The result is a gorgeous faux letterpress look on your cardstock!

Some products used in my project today were sent to me free of charge for design purposes. I only ever design for companies I can stand behind 100%! This post also contains affiliate links.

Making the Handmade Card

For my card today I used the new “Wheat Stalks” stencil. I started by smooshing a bit of pigment ink onto the stencil and then taped the stencil onto a piece of cardstock. To get the best impression possible, I sent the stencil and cardstock through my die cut machine.

Once I had ran the stencil and cardstock through my die cutting machine, I had a beautiful embossed panel that also had ink transfered to the negative space around the stencil. The white area is also raised for a true letterpress look!

To finish this simple handmade card, I added a hugs die cut sentiment and a simple kraft frame around the panel. I also put a bit of glossy accents on the die cut sentiment to help it stand out from the background and the frame.

I hope you all enjoyed a look at this very simple handmade card! And if you are interested in the stencil I used, it is linked down below. Happy crafting everyone!!
