Shadow Stenciling – The Easy Way!!

Hi everyone! It’s Lindsay, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog and YouTube Channel, here with you today and I am so excited to share today’s video tutorial with you all! It’s all about shadow stenciling, but the easy way!! Check out the video below for all the details!

Tips and Tricks

I have shared a similar shadow stenciling technique, which you can find in this post. But, I used an emboss resist technique and that takes time, which I am short on these days! So I wanted to try and find a quicker way to get the same results! I still love the look of the embossing, especially the added shine, but for a quick background, this is the way to go!

This technique does work best with pigment inks. Their properties allow the inks to sit on top of the paper and one another without bleeding and blending together. Dye inks absorb into the paper and will blend together a bit. They also won’t give as crisp of a result. Pigment inks really work best!

Finally, this technique can be done with ANY STENCIL you have!! I love techniques like this. I used the “Micro Dots” stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop for my technique today because I am a clean and simple girl at heart, but any pattern will work for this technique! It’s really just about what you like and your own style!

I hope you all enjoyed a look at this super simple technique! And if you’re interested in the stencil I used today, I have it linked below. Until next time, happy crafting everyone!!
