Hello TCW friends!
Fields of flowers and butterflies flutter through my mind as I think about being out in the sunshine in these ‘locked-down’ weeks. As I dream about visiting these wide-open spaces, the best way to reach them at the moment is within my art journal. Come along with me on this arty journey into nature.
– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –
This project features 3 stencils; TCW922 – Ethereal, TCW246 – Swiss Dot & TCW925 – Nature’s Circuitry
and also 2 mediums: TCW9004 – Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste & TCW9011 – Matte Gel Medium
Of course, as usual, If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.
Step-by-Step
1 – I start with 2 Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays – Lime & Fuschia and spray them onto TCW246 – Swiss Dots stencil separately and stamp these into my art journal randomly
2 – I adhere a single-ply patterned napkin onto the page with TCW9011 – Matte Gel Medium
3 – I use TCW922 – Ethereal and TCW9004 – Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste to stencil some textured flowers over the napkin
4 – On a piece of watercolour card I stencil through the butterfly on TCW925 – Nature’s Circuitry to create a butterfly that I can cut out. I turn the stencil over to achieve matching wings. I fussy cut this out.
5 – I use watercolour washes and splatters with white paint and gloss sprays to create interest and depth within my newly created field of flowers
6 – I attach the butterfly to the page using strong glue so that the wings are able to move
7 – I choose some simple word stickers – ‘Heartfelt Blessings’
Thanks so much for watching. I hope you have enjoyed following along
Have a great day!
