Hi everyone! It’s Lindsay here with you today, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog and YouTube Channel. I am so excited to be sharing today’s video tutorial with you. It is all about creating easy 5 minute birthday cards for boys, specifically pre-tees/teenagers. This is such a hard age group for me to create for, but I came up with a few ideas and thought I would share them with you all! Watch the video tutorial below for all the details!

The Video Tutorial

Making the Cards
3D Celebrate

It’s always hard for me to come up with ideas for these cards, but when I seen the new Geo Netting Stencil and it’s 3D like effect, I knew it was perfect for creating simple boy birthday cards. My son loves optical illusions, and this is definitely one of them!

I ink blended a bright orange through the stencil and all that was left to do was add a sentiment! A fun font really helps make this more of a pre-teen card.
You Rock Birthday Card

There are a few more steps to this card, but it’s still just as simple! I started by die cutting a panel with a circle die. On the circle, I stenciled only the lines part of the new Landscape stencil. When I seen this stencil, I thought the lines looked a lot like the lines you see on a sound system. I stenciled just the lines with a bright blue ink.

Then, on the outer panel, I used the Micro Dots stencil and a bright green ink to add a little more interest this card. Again, I went with a fun font “You Rock” sentiment, which isn’t a birthday sentiment, so I stamped that on the inside of the card!
I hope you all enjoyed the video tutorial today. If you are interested in any of the stencils I used today, you can find them linked down below. Until next time, happy crafting!!

What font did you use for the word celebrate on this card? Thank you!
It is a stamp set called Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches.
