Hi There friends 🙂
When I got send my new Design team box, all the pretty flowers immediately caught my eye, and I knew this was going to be a fantastic term on the design team.
Today is my chance to show off some of this magnificent stencils on an art journal page for you.
**The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some products to create this project. The opinions I share, however, are solely my own. :)***
This is the end result of the page –

You can watch the full process video here, and the step – by – step instructions are below:
I started off with some orange paint already on my page from wiping my stencil clean. The stencil pattern you see here is called TCW875 – Pine needle Print 12 x 12. I added torn papers from the Dina Wakley Collage Collective, and glued it down using TCW Matte Gel medium.

Now I add color using Dina Wakley media paints, in blue, pinks and I also add lots of white to make it blend. Using a brayer, I move the paint around.

I have some collage tissue paper left from my Dina Wakley faces range, and decide to adhere this to the left page of the double spread. I use TCW Matte Gel Medium.

The tissue paper looks nice and blended which makes it part of the page, instead of just sitting on top. I love this look on art journal pages.
The next step is to add this magnificent Iris Flowers stencil. The stencil I am using is TCW864 – Irises 12 x 12. With this stencil I used a dark purple for the flowers and a olive green for the stems.

I am so in love with the look of this flowers. It did feel like they got a bit lost on this busy page. To fix this, I made a thinned down watery solution of the same purple paint, and proceeded to fill in the entire flower with this softer shade of purple. I did the same with the green for the stems. The result made me very happy!

Next I added color to the face and hair. I used Dina Wakley media paints for this, in Apricot, Blushing and Cheddar. For the eyes I used the color Night.

The last step to this process is to include some word stenciling. For this I used TCW Black Gesso, because its my fav black – super opaque and quick drying.

I use stencil TCW585 Mini Inspired Words 6 x 6, with this black gesso to create some bold wording. Once dry, I go over the black words with a white gelli roller pen to make it pop.
So happy with this page, it truly made me happy to create these flowers and with these colors. Mmmmmm, happy place!

I hope you enjoyed this project and got inspired to create yourself.
