Hi Everyone,
I want to share an art journal spread with you. This spread was inspired by the beautiful colors of Autumn. I hope you like it.
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me the products to work with, but the opinions I share here are solely my own.
I made this spread in Ken Oliver’s mixed media paper journal.
I applied acrylic paints in layers with a brayer and my fingers.
Next, I did background stamping with Rubber Dance stamps ‘Mix a Sentiment’ stamp and Archival inks.
After that, I applied TCW9039 Copper penny modeling paste through TCW 831 Faithful tree stencil.
Tip: Clean the stencils with water or wet cloth immediately after using modeling paste. I have a small plastic container filled with water on my table and if I am too busy, I just dip my stencils in it, close the box and clean them properly later. Please remember to keep this water away from furkids.
Once the modeling paste was dry, I colored it very roughly with soft pastels. I fixed them with a spray fixative. I wanted the copper color to show through in some areas.
Stamped, colored and fussy cut some mushrooms and acorns from Rubber Dance stamps ‘Textured Mushroom’ stamp set. I glued them with TCW9011 Matte Gel medium
I added text ephemera and a diecut from my stash.
Finished the spread by adding some highlights and shadows with Sakura Gelly roll pen and Pigma micron markers.
That’s all for now.
