Art Is Anything You Can Get Away With Art Journal Page

Happy Thursday everyone, Farrel here today to share my new art journal page I created using some of the new TCW stencils.

I am using my 8×8 Dylusions Art Journal for this post and I begin with tearing up a page from a dictionary and applying the pieces to my page with TCW9011 Gel Medium Matte and a paint brush.

Once the gel medium is dry, I then use a paint brush to apply the chalk acrylic paint. I am using PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paint in Mermaid, Smoked Paprika, Beach Hut and Very Berry.

Using those same colours I used a make up sponge to apply the paints through TCW837 Texture Plate in the 12×12 stencil. This is such a fabulous stencil for backgrounds.

Then I use TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and TCW832 Script Words in the 6×6 stencil. I only use parts of the stencil on my page.

Next I add some stamping using stamps by Darkroom Door and Viva Las VegaStamps and archival ink. I then stamped Dina Wakley’s Scribbly Wings and Silhouetted Women onto some white cardstock and after a little bit of fussy cutting I then adhered it to the page. I used Distress Crayons in Broken China and Stormy Sky to add a little bit of colour and used my water pen to blend the crayon out a little.

I then went around the edges of my woman and sentiment with my Stabilo Aquarelleable pencil and used my water pen to blend it. ( As you can see my sentiment is the wrong way around which I noticed after the glue had dried lol…. I managed to fix it later though) I also used the pencil to add some shading around the edges of the page.

To finish off the page I used my Fineline Applicator to add some doodling around the edges of the page. My applicator has a mixture of water and TCW9016 Spun Sugar acrylic paint in it.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and thanks for dropping in and I look forward to seeing my next project with you all soon.
