I love to take an item and turn it into something completely different. I have an empty popcorn tin that I did not want to throw away, so I thought outside the box and make it into a beautiful stenciled trash can!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
Check out the video how to turn a popcorn tin into an amazing trash can with TCW!!!
I started with a popcorn tin that I was not sure what to do with anymore, and on the flip side my trashcan in my craft room was nasty. So I put the two together and made a new one! I started by painting on 2 coats of TCW9001 White Gesso to the can to give it a tooth for the paint to stick to. I then mixed the TCW9023 Blue Jellybean Heavy Body Paint and TCW9024 Kale Smoothie Heavy Body Paint to get a teal color and painted over the dried gesso. Then I applied the TCW9010 Silver Gesso with a stipple brush with the 12×12 TCW824 Growing Wild by Carmen Medlin to create the amazing design.
After all the paint and gesso dried I added a clear coat of TCW9007 Clear Gesso to set everything. I added a little felt ot the bottom so it would ot scratch my floor and it is done. I love the result and it adds an amazing art piece in my crafty space that actually is functional!!
