Hello Crafters!
Today I want to show you how I made this quick and easy Mixed Media TAG using stencils and modeling paste
Supplies needed :
- TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Paint 4 Oz.
- TCW9024 Kale Smoothie Heavy Body Paint 4 0z.
- TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium
- TCW9025 Palette Knife
- TCW9001 White Gesso
- TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste
- TCW763 Alphabetica
- TCW790 Micro Bricks
Note: I am a Design Team member for The Crafter’s Workshop; however, even though I use and love their products, all opinions are solely my own.
I covered the tag with pieces of scrapbooking paper from my stash, I used gel medium to glue everything together. I then used a flat old brush to apply gesso to the background.
TIP: using old brush helps with getting even more texture!
I added the first layer of texture with the stencil alphabetica and a spray ink. Since I wanted this to be subtle, I only did one spritz. I then let it dry.
I used the palette knife and the Fluffy modeling paste to apply even more texture, this time through the stencil Micro Bricks. I let it completely dry before applying the next layer.
I used the heavy body acrylic and I thinned it down a bit with water, with a round brush I applied the color making sure to get into the nooks and crannies of my stenciled background. I also mixed the dark Kale Smoothie with a bit of Spun Sugar to get couple of different shades of green.
When I was happy with my background I run the tag through my sewing machine to add some interest to the sides of the tag, then all was left was to add the elements to decor the tag!
Easy peasy!!
Here’s some more photo of the Tag I made!
