The Best for Last

I think I have saved the best for last! This is Rachel Kleinman joining you all for my last post on The Crafter’s Workshop design team. And I personally think it’s one of my favorite art journal pages I’ve made!

I have a few progress photos to share…

I started with some random spreads of texture paste on my page, then added the cross stitch pattern from “Stitched Art” with more texture paste. Once everything was dried then I could get messy and painty! Obviously I went with pinks and yellows, and just blended it all with my fingers. To make the x’s stand out, I lightly rubbed over them with my finger in dark paint.

I added to the movement of the page by incorporating some skinny strips of washi tape, scrapes of dark navy paint (I made the thin scrapes by using the side of my palette knife), and adding light blue circles. Next I’ll add my focal point…

This is one of my favorite ways to use the image stencils. I like to think of them as a stamp, so I used dark modeling paste on watercolor paper over the flamingo stencil from “Tropical Elements” and let the paste dry. Then I painted the paper green, blue and yellow. Once everything was dry, I cut the image out and glued it to my art journal.

This is my pup, Meeko, guiding me through the process 😉

A huge huge thank you to The Crafter’s Workshop for letting me be a part of your amazing company this past year! I have met some incredible people and gained so much inspiration along the way. I hope I’ve inspired some of you over the last 12 months! Thank you!
