Hello Everyone, Jen here today to share with you an stencil overlay ‘on the fly’ Thank you card.
This will be my last post and I wanted to express my gratitude for this wonderful opportunity to share my creations with the Crafter’s Workshop community.
Times when you need a thank you card and store bought ones just won’t do, this is a super fun and easy way to design your own with more style and personality!
Supplies needed:
- Acrylic paint
- Foam brush
- Stencils: TCW601 Poppy Field, TCW630 Chickadee Post, and TCW 508S Flow Chart.
- White gel pen
- Scissors
- Paper: water color or cardstock
Step 1: Place stencil design over paper and paint. Here I started with TCW601 Poppy Field in Turquoise.
Step 2:
Adding magenta over the first layer, let dry before moving on to the next step.
Two tones of turquoise & magenta
Step 3: Stencil overlay:
slightly shift the stencil over to one side of your paper, then overlay another color of paint here I used gold.
Step 4: While this layer is drying move on to another small sheet of paper/card stock.
I painted my background with a high gloss black, while tracing the bird design from TCW630 Chickadee Post with a white gel pen.
Then I decided to add more detail inside the bird with the white gel pen.
I then cut the bird out and moved on to using TCW 508S Flow Chart to trace out design and write the words Thank you inside.
Step 5: I then went back over my first layers with my white gel pen to outline the poppies.
I then placed the cut out bird design and the Thank you bubble and secured it on my card to finish the design.
Hope you enjoyed this!
Cheers,
Jen
