Woven – 1 stencil 3 ways with Amy Prior

Hi there Crafter’s Workshop fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing 3 scrapbooking layouts that I have created using the same Crafter’s Workshop stencil in 3 different ways.

The stencil that I have chosen to use for these layouts is the new release TCW570 – Woven stencil. I just love this different take on the good old Chevron/Herringbone pattern.TCW570

This first layout is very bright and bold. I have created the background using Shimmerz Dazzlerz paints in a rainbow of different colours.tn_Laughing Today by Amy PriorTo get this faux marbled effect, I have simply added 3 blobs of each colour (I used about 10 colours), randomly over the top of the stencil before smearing the colours all around using a palette knife very quickly. This technique does not work if you try to go slow and careful as this just creates bleeding.tn_Laughing Today by Amy Prior2This gorgeous technique works so lovely with a huge range of different colours but I just love this rainbow effect on top of the black the best to date. I have used American Crafts Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock for my background which is super thick and stands up to lots of wet medium perfectly.tn_Laughing Today by Amy Prior5The rest of this layout came together beautifully with a large range of different coloured patterned papers layered among some wire, chipboard and a painted doily. Just gorgeous!

The next layout that I have to share with you all, again uses the Crafter’s Workshop Woven Stencil in 12×12, this time I have used Shimmerz Dazzlerz paint again through the stencil but just in the pearl white colour to create a nice subtle background.tn_Fancy That by Amy PriorThis gorgeous layout started off life as a humble piece of American Crafts Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock before I added the Shimmerz Dazzlerz through the stencil. I just love the look of white on white or even off white on white as this layout is. tn_Fancy That by Amy Prior3For this layout I have also used the new Remnants stencil TCW2093 – Sequin Waste Bit with some BoBunny Glitter Paste!

The glitter was the perfect addition to the gorgeous Bohemian style paper and embellishments that I had chosen for this layout. I had a little chuckle while writing the journalling. My dear daughter Mia is having a tantrum in the photo because I bought green apples instead of red. Sigh…tn_Fancy That by Amy Prior5Next up I have another gorgeous fun and bright layout that is very masculine in comparison to my usual. Again I am featuring Miss Mia in the photos but this time doing her crazy eyes which she does on a regular occurance. Again I have used American Crafts Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock for my base.tn_Imagine by Amy PriorTo give some colour to the background, I have sprayed and dribbled various Shimmerz Paint Sprays in shades of blue and yellow to help tie into the colour challenge that I was working towards at a recent retreat. This colour scheme is so much fun to work with as there is such a plethora of different shades of blues and yellows to choose from.tn_Imagine by Amy Prior2When the background was dry, I have added some Blue Glitter Paste through the same Woven stencil, but this time, concentrating the pattern over the top of the blue and yellow splatters only. This has created a very subtle hint of the glittery pattern shining through among the layers which is super cool. In case you hadn’t noticed, said challenge I was working on included triangles hehehe. tn_Imagine by Amy Prior5Well that is it from me today, be sure to keep checking back daily for more amazing inspiration from the rest of the Crafter’s Workshop Design Team and until next time, happy scrapping!
