Hello Everyone, Jen here to show you a quick and easy way to brighten your home decor.
Supplies needed:
- Wooden door hanger
- Gesso
- Paint
- Palette knife
- Whipped Spackle
- Foam paint brush
- Stencils (Here I used) TCW 557 Lace, TCW 585 Inspired Words,
- TCW 588 Moroccan Sun
Step 1:
I primed the wooden door hanger with a coat of Gesso. Allow to dry and paint your first layer of color.
Step 2: Painting more layers of color
I did my first layer in Titanium White, then a second layer in Turquoise.
Step 3: Place stencil over door hanger then apply a layer of whipped spackle with a palette knife.
Here I used the NEW TCW 588 Moroccan Sun stencil
Loving the raised texture! (TCW 588 Moroccan Sun stencil)
Step 4: Adding more stencil detail w/ TCW 588 Moroccan Sun
Here I used TCW 585 Inspired Words stencil.
Step 5: Adding more color
I was really happy with how this turned out and was thinking of leaving as is but I felt it needed a blast of color so I got out my spray inks.
Loving this texture and explosion of color!
I decided to use a white paint pen over the inspirational words so they stand out better.
Hope you enjoyed this!
Cheers,
I love this Jen! Wonderful colors and great tutorial!
