Altered Shoulder Bag

Hello Stencil Lovers!!!

I am so happy it is my turn to share a new creation with you all. I just got some of the new stencils and let me tell you I AM IN LOVE!!!

So make sure you keep your eyes out for all the new goodies hitting the stores.

So I decided to alter a shoulder purse that I have had in my stash of things to alter. It was a quick and simple project and my daughter was ready to rock it (she loves purses).

First I started with African Jade Silks Acrylic Glaze with the new stencil TCW570 Woven.

Then I went in with some Primary Elements Clear Acrylic Glaze and the Ancient Coins Primary Elements through he same stencil.

Since there was some paint left I sprayed a little water, stirred it up, and used a paintbrush to create splatter.

Then I grabbed the awesome new stencil TCW566 Winged Exploration and used some black acrylic paint to add the explore to the bag.

I didn’t realize I had smoothed too much paint with the e until after I removed the stencil. So TIP: Make sure your stencil is flat and don’t add to much paint to you brush or sponge. You can always build layers by using little paint.

So here is the finished bag.  I love the simple look of this and my bag-o-colic (ahem daughter) just loves it too. So what do you think?

I am not a perfectionist so I am okay with the e and p not looking perfect. Sometimes paint has a mind of its own!

The backside I did in the same fashion with he blue paint and gold paint. I also added the gold splatters. I didn’t an the explore on both sides though.
