Wall decor and stencils

Hi there! Today I´d like to share with you a 6×6 inch canvas in pastellic colors. I find that this particular piece would make for a nice Valentine´s or Mother´s Day present.

I used the “Indian Leaves” 12×12 inch stencil on the background as well as on the pink flowers.

First I treated the canvas with white gesso and when it was dry, I added some light texture paste thru the stencil onto the background. When the paste had dried up, I sprayed some Glimmer Mist colors (pink, purple, blue and green) onto the background and let the colors dry properly. When the background was all dry, splodged some darker pink color spray here and there for additional interest.

Sanna LippertWhile the spray colors were drying, I took a piece of watercolor paper and inked the pattern thru the stencil onto the paper and cut circles in various sizes. I then inked the edges of the flowers with the ink blending tool and scrunched each circle up a bit. Then I layered them to create flowers and added a brad in the middle.

After that I just needed to glue the flowers down onto the canvas, add some stenciled, fussy cut leaves (created with the Mini Abstract Leaves stencil), rhinestones and a stamped, fussy cut sentiment onto the canvas. Sanna Lippert

Here is close-up on the finished piece. I like the happy and cheerfull end result. Can you tell, how much I am already looking forward to spring? 🙂

Have a lovely, creative day!
