Hi Everyone! Today my creation is made using Hummingbirds (TCW519s) stencil. I love hummingbirds and this stencil will be used over and over. Here is what the stencil looks like.
In my local craft store I found a few metal heart ornaments. I used black archival ink and a stamp to the front and back of the heart. Not sure if the paint will stick to the metal, I covered the heart with clear gesso.
Then I water downed some acrylic paints in blues and white to the background. I added the images from the stencil to the heart with white acrylic paint. Once it was all dried I started to paint the design. Using white paint first allows you to see the images and it makes it easier to paint. Plus using white first helps the colors pop.
Remember stencils are a great start to any painting and don’t be afraid to add something extra to the image. I added centers to the flowers.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
