Hi here, Lydell with you again today, sharing an Art Journal page.
The Crafter’s Workshop Stencils are one of my staples for doing journal backgrounds, they help create texture and dimension, with out them life would be much harder! (LOL)
I started my pages with Gesso. I used a heavy Gesso (by Pebeo) first up to cover the pages well. (they used to be a recipe book!)
I then started adding texture with Modeling paste and other mediums to add more texture. I used several stencils for this. Then I started adding the paint! (I used Pebeo Modeling Paste, Gloss Bindex and Raw Sand Mortar)
Then more stencils…… and more paint!!!!
I used Distress inks to create the distressed edges and I also used it through a couple of stencils to add the darker pattern.
I drew my girl and coloured her with Mepxy Markers (Alcohol markers) and graphite and cut her out.
I added her to the page and glued her down with gel medium. I ‘grounded’ her with brown and maroon Big Brush markers.
I added more stenciling around the page and around the edges with the same brown Big Brush Marker. Then I added my text with a Pentel Brush Pen.
and Its finished!
Loved my creative time today!
The Stencils I used on this page were…..
TCW473S, TCW320S, TCW492S, TCW438S, TCW481S
They can all be found HERE
Thanks for dropping in today! Hope you got some creative time today!
Lydell 🙂
