Throwing some colour at it

Hi it is Beck Beattie and I’m so very excited to be sharing my very first post for The Crafter’s Workshop.  I love how stencils really help you add your own custom colours into your scrapbook pages with so many beautiful designs.  I love layering stencils, and here is the Layout I created in this manner.

To create the background colour and texture I used 3 stencils,  Brocade TCW195, Capricious TCW124 and Art Is TCW261s.

I started out by using the Brocade TCW195 with some texture paste to create a beautiful pattern.  With a script stamp I added some stamping to the raised areas with

The next step was to add some blue colour to the background by adding some blue gelatos straight to some of the raised areas.  Then taking a baby wipe I sponged over the top moving and making the colour a little more subtle.

I then used the Capricious TCW124 stencil and some Tangello Gelato to add some orange colour.  I scribbled some colour onto the baby wipe and then used this similar to an ink dauber to add the colour through the stencil.

To create a little extra texture to the background I mixed some Gelatos with Whipped Spackle to create some coloured texture paste and then I stencilled this through the Art Is TCW261s stencil.

With my background quickly completed, I set about to embellish the page.

I really enjoy layering my stencils up and there are so many designs I always find a fun combination!
