Hi there! Today I´d like to share a background technique with you that I have been wanting to try out for a long time now. It is fairly easy to do. You only need a piece of white cardstock, a stencil, some white structure paste, a black pen and some spray inks. I created a tone in tone background pattern with white molding paste and then just added some spray ink for interest.
So here is how I created my background:
I first placed the “Stacked Triangles” stencil over a piece of white cardstock, then applied some structure paste over it and let it dry.
After that I went and sprayed some yellow, green and blue spray ink over the cardstock. I added so much color until it started to form droplets. I let every single shade dry properly before spraying another color over/next to it.
Next I went and outlined some of the triangles with a black pen for more detail and contrast.
After that I just chose some embellishments to go with my photos, decorated the page and glued everything together.
And this is how my finished layout looks like.
I hope you have enjoyed this little step-by-step!
Happy stenciling,
xoxo, Sanna
