This Day Mixed Media Layout

Hello friends! Today, I have a few fun tips to share with you using stencil butters on your layouts. I know that some people don’t like mixed media layouts-they sometimes look messy, but I’m here to show you that it doesn’t always have to be messy. It can be a little messy, and pretty at the same time. 🙂

To begin, I blended red ink through the TCW2303 Rock Wall Slimline Stencil. I carefully moved the stencil down the page and repeated the process until I was satisfied with the background. Next, I splashed some red ink all over the layout.

After that, I used a thick scraper and turquoise stencil butter to cover a scrap piece of white cardstock to create a metallic mat for the photo. I used a heat gun to speed up the drying time. It’s so pretty!!

Next, I scrapped a heart die cut from my stash and used my finger to smear the stencil butter all over it to create a metallic heart frame. Super fun and easy way to make your embellishments work for you!

To complete the layout, I smeared the turquoise stencil butter all around the layout using my finger to add a nice border. Love how this layout came together with all the mixed media. And it’s so pretty! What do you think?

Check out all the beautiful stencil butters in the shop! Once you start playing with these beauties, you’ll need them all. Thank you for visiting today.
