A trio of Rainbow Cards!

Hello creative souls! Tammy (aka Tambarambaa) here today to share a fun project. Let’s make some cards together!

3 cards with rainbow stencilled backgrounds and black wording on top

TCW provided me with some amazing goodies to create with but the art and ideas are my own.

Aren’t the rainbows so pretty? And so many of the stencils would look fabulous with this technique, and the best part, it’s simpler than it looks. So let’s take a look….

I begin by trimming a sheet of the TCW9051 Watercolour Paper into quarters – perfect card size. I then selected a few stencils. I aimed for ones that show a lot of background, as I knew I wanted to create some rainbow backgrounds and the more rainbow the better right?! I also gathered all my Distress Inks in all the colors of the rainbow!!

First I selected TCW601 Poppy Field and I laid it over my paper, using a bit of washi tape to keep it in place. Then using a blending tool, I began with red and moved through the colors in vertical stripes.

Look at that magic when you lift up the stencil! (TCW601 Poppy Field) That fresh pop of white is absolutely stunning.

Once dry, I wanted to add some words, so I grabbed stencil TCW5041 Thank You and lay it over the top, trying to center it. I then swiped TCW9009 Black Modeling Paste using a palette knife over the ‘Thank You’. Lift and allow to dry – don’t forget to wash that stencil immediately, or place it in a tub of water.

Next I used stencil TCW935 Secret Garden and repeated the above process, but using stencil TCW5042 Congrats for the wording. I just love how clean that Black Modeling Paste is! No bleeding at all.

Then I selected TCW346 Honeycomb for the background and stencil TCW5043 I Love You for the words.

My fave part is defintley that stencil lift. It just never gets old. Lol.

creating more rainbow backgrounds. One has a garden swirl shape and the other has honeycomb

The final step is to edge them in black ink! So pretty.
