It must come at no surprise to you that I like shiny things. Yes, I was a crow in my previous life.
Today, I am going to show you how to add foil to your cards without the use of a hot laminator.
And, reveal a brand new stencil releasing this week!!!

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.
This TCW961 Basketweave stencil is a perfect background image and very versatile with all types of
mediums. Let me show you how I made the first card.

Use heavy cardstock (110lbs) so that the TCW9049 Tacky-When-Dry Gel does not buckle the paper.
When the gel is dry, add gold foil (transfer sheet) over the gel. Burnish or rub the foil over
the ridges with your fingers or a bonefolder.

On a separate piece of cardstock, place the TCW933 Joyous Butterfly and use washi tape to secure the stencil.

Play with some Stencil Butters and let this dry. You can also apply heat directly to get that bubble effect.

Cut out this butterfly and glue it onto a piece of black cardstock.
Leave a little edge and
cut the black cardstock. This will make the butterfly pop even more.

I used a sentiment from TCW2205 Sprinkle Kindness 4×6 Clear Stamps and placed it on dimensional foam tape.
The second card is just as easy. I repeated the first steps of applying gel over
heavy cardstock but used teal foil instead.

I heat embossed the flowers on black cardstock from the TCW2208 Precious Sentiments 4×6 Clear Stamps set.

Alternate liquid glue and dimensional foam tape under the flowers to give some depth and interest.
This is a very easy technique to make ba-da-bling cards with the elegance of foil without using a laminator. I hope you will give it a try and also look at our new 2022 Stencil release!
