Happy New Year friends! Today, I’m sharing a fun New Year’s layout I created using photos from 2021. I remember a long time ago, I walked into my local scrapbook store asking if they had any New Years paper. They did not… and at the time, I had yet to discover the world of stencils. Stencils are perfect for creating your own background patterned paper onto plain white cardstock.
Disclaimer: “The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with product to create this layout. The opinions I share are solely my own.”
To create the background, I used the TCW201 Time Travel Stencil, inks and a blending brush. I simply blended in the clocks using a variety of inks. This is such a simple, but fun way to use stencils. It is not hard at all and it looks so great. Notice how the ink colors match the patterned paper… I literally went through my stash of inks to find the right colors.

To create an ombre effect, you can press the inked brush lightly through the stencil and harder in certain areas. I really love how this looks!

I cut the heart and circle using metal dies and fussy cut the banner and tag from patterned paper to use in a cluster. Isn’t this so pretty? I wanted to keep the layout pretty simple, focusing on the photos.

To complete the layout, I added a few labels, chipboard and stickers at the bottom of the layout with some journaling. If you’re looking for a great stencil to document your New Year’s celebration, check out the TCW201 Time Travel Stencil. Thank you so much for visiting today!
