Slimline Card ~ Celebrate You

Hi! Hello! Good day!
Today is the day to celebrate you! You are amazing and fabulous, and this card screams your awesomeness!

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

I decided on making a 4×9 slimline card with a heavy cardstock base (110lbs). Use distress oxide sprays and dry the cardstock in between layering different colors.

Create interest on the distress oxide background by stamping with Vintage Photo Distress oxide
and a Text/Wordy rubber stamp from Unity Stamp Company.

Next, I combined two slimline stencils into one. By doing this, you are stretching your stencils and creating a new use for them. I used washi tape to temporarily tape TCW2311 Triple Square Slimline and TCW2303 Rock Wall Slimline stencils together.

Next, make you “chocolate icing” by mixing TCW9038Antique Gold Modeling Paste and Light & Fluffy Modeling paste. Apply the mixture with a palette knife over the three squares.

I love creating torn edges on cards. I have a scissor with crazy edges and went to town on opposing corners of the card. I distressed it even more by coloring it with two brown-ish distress oxides.

I needed something “dark” and decided on using TCW876 Screen View Stencil and Black Soot Distress Oxide. Randomly apply color all over the card.

I found these Butterflies from Spellbinders and thought they would go perfectly with this background. Use foam tape underneath to create dimension. The sentiments are word dies from Concord & 9 placed on a black sentiment strip label die. The cardstock is Rose Gold from Tonic.

I hope you like today’s card. I had so much fun creating this one! What is your favorite part of the card?

Talk soon,

Charmaine
