You and Me ~ Slimline Card

I love digital stamps! You can manipulate the size, add sentiments and even personalize them to fit the occasion. Let me show you how to make a slimline card, and you don’t even have to color it!

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

I first start by downloading the image from Polka Dot Orchard into Word. Resize to fit on a slimline card, 4″ x 8.5″—print on heavy cardstock and an identical copy on masking paper. Cut out the couple on masking paper, including the pieces between their faces.

Place the masking paper over the cardstock and color with distress oxide, Salvaged Patina.

Pull out your distress oxides and go to town with different stencils! I started with TCW836 Texture Love and Seedless Preserves. Don’t think about placement, just go!

TCW882 Fantasy Tile and Fossilized Amber look great together.

TCW384 Well Rounded with Blueprint Sketch. This is such a versatile stencil. You can use all of it or just bits and pieces.

The final two steps include TCW287 Mini Burst Balzer and TCW9048 Hot Foil Gel. I want the “kiss” to look magical, so I added gel through the stencil with a palette knife and let it dry. Make sure to wash your stencil and knife right away.

Burnish the foil to make contact with the dried gel. I did not use enough gel to fill the stencil, but the foil did stick to the raised gel. You can also now remove the mask over the couple.

I finished the card by using double sided adhesive foam under the sentiment and
regular double-sided tape for the base.

I hope you like today’s card and will try to mix digital images with your TCW Stencils.

Have a fabulous week,
Charmaine
