When I first saw the TCW2204 When it Rains 4×6 Clear Stamp set…. this dark blue but magical layout came to mind filled with my favorite color palette of blues, pinks, purples and all the stars and pretty things! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!

Process video and close up shot are linked down below.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Since I knew I was going to be using a heap of watercolor, I layered a very generous layer of TCW9007 Clear Gesso on top of page in my art journal. This page has layers of inked leaked through from other pages but it fits perfect with the color palette Im using.

Once the clear gesso was dry, I sprayed the entire page with water and then layered my watercolors with a wide wash brush. The colors I’m using here is from the Brea Reese core watercolor pan palette.

On the right side of the page, I painted a big block of TCW 9001 White Gesso using a brush (this is where my text is going) and using a blending tool, I layered on a very thin amount of TCW 9001 White Gesso over the top of the TCW2308 Clouds Slimline Stencil in circular motions across the entire layout.

On the left side of the page, I painted a pastel rainbow using Brea Reese acrylics layered with Faber Castell gelatos for shading. Using a blending tool, I layered a thin layer of TCW9010 Silver Gesso through the 12×12 TCW541 Believe Script Stencil across the entire page, except for the white block and the rainbow.

In that white block on the right side, I stamped the TCW2204 When it Rains 4×6 Clear Stamps with VersaMark clear embossing ink and embossed it with Eggplant Recollections Pearl embossing powder. (It’s a beautiful dark purple!)

For a few twinkly bits, I added some of the flashy stars from both 6×6 and 12×12 TCW922 Ethereal Stencil  using TCW9005 White Modeling Paste with a palette knife around the text block and few at the top and bottom of the rainbow.

TCW9041 Platinum Modeling Paste through TCW2302 Star Sparkle Slimline Stencil and TCW5004 Star Shower Stencil.

Now to add all the stars! All the remaining blank space in the clouds was filled with TCW9041 Platinum Modeling Paste through TCW2302 Star Sparkle Slimline Stencil and TCW5004 Star Shower Stencil with a palette knife.

To finish off the page, I added a dark layer of paint around the edges, along with some stickers and collage pieces to make this layout extra magical! Enjoy the process video and close up photos down below!
