Hello TCW friends!
Wildflowers everywhere in my pages today!
Let me take you through how I created these two art journal pages. I wasn’t sure I was going to get them to work out but it all turns out OK in the end. The Crafter’s Workshop stencil “Daisy Cluster” is the hero stencil and ColorSparx watercolor powders create some wonderful colorful wildflowers!
These are the products I used in today’s spread
- TCW155 – Daisy Cluster
- TCW792 – Micro Dots
- TCW246 – Swiss Dots
- TCW9056 – ColorSparx – Sun splash set
- TCW9057 – ColorSparx – Poolside set
- TCW9058 – ColorSparx – Alpine set
- TCW9055 – ColorSparx – Berry Punch
- TCW9051 – Watercolor paper
– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –
Of course, as usual, If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.
…here is how the pages came together…
1 – Start the page with light lemon paint and TCW246 – Swiss Dots stencil sprayed through with Carnation gloss spray
2 – Print off any excess gloss spray into a small journal
3 – Using TCW155 – Daisy Cluster, spray though with Fuchsia gloss spray and print off the excess gloss spray onto the other side of the page. Do the same into the small journal aswell.
4 – Again with TCW246 – Swiss Dots, spray though with Heather gloss spray and stamp off into the small journal
5 – Next with TCW792 – Micro Dots I stencil through with Blackberry and Night acrylic paint into the corners of the page
6 – Spray TCW155 – Daisy Cluster with Night gloss spray and transfer both print and stencil methods….watch for the overspray.
7 – To create bundles of wildflowers, take TCW155 – Daisy Cluster and sprinkle with ColorSparx watercolor powders. Use only a couple of colors for each sheet so they don’t get too muddy
8 – Save the background papers so they dry. These will be great backgrounds in other pages in the future
9 – Once the background paper is removed, there is still pigment on the top of the stencil which can be printed off onto a watercolor sheet. Doing this with a variety of colors gives you an array of pretty flowers and pretty papers for another time.
10 – Once there is enough colors, fussy cut the flowers out. I sat in front of Netflix to get this done. It is fiddly but well worth it to bring these pages together.
On the same night, I drew a cute face to place under the field of wildfowers that will become her hair.
11 – Assemble the flowers onto the pages and attach with mini foam squares to mount them up off the page
12 – Once all the flowers are arranged and attached, add some sentiment stickers to finish the pages off.
I do hope you have enjoyed this walkthrough of my page and the video. Hopefully, it gives you some inspiration to create your own page using TCW155 – Daisy Cluster or TCW9057 ColorSparx watercolor powders
Until next time… have fun!
