Hello TCW friends
These last 2 weeks have had me with hardly a moment to relax into my art or even sit down at my art desk. So today it is with joy that I sit to create an illustrated art journal page to share a little bit of The Crafter’s Workshop inspiration for you.
– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –
In today’s page, I used three different stencils: TCW922 – Ethereal; TCW832 – Script Words & TCW886 – Shape Landscape
Of course, as usual, If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.
Step – by – step
1 – Paint the corners of a journal page randomly with paint (DWM – peacock)
2 – Using a toning colour, stencil through TCW992 – Ethereal (DWM – turquoise)
3 – Follow this with a highlight colour through TCW886 – Shape Landscape (dots) (DWM – lemon)
4 – Using the same stencil but with the striped, line up the edges of the pages and stencil through with a deep tone (DWM – night)

5 – Stencil some more through the TCW922 – Ethereal stencil (DWM – fuschia & marine)
6 – To give the page some texture use TCW9044 Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste and stencil through TCW832 – Script Words

7 – I then drew out the characters onto the page with a very light tone of my intended background colour
8 – Block out the negative space with a deep tone (DWM – blackberry & night)
9 – I then use Prismacolors, watercolour and other mark making tools to give more depth to the figures on the page

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the video.
Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own illustrated art journal page.

Have a great day!
