Art Journal Page – Let me live, let me breathe.

Full art journal page with stenciling in blue and rust red

Hiya TCW friends,
Great to be here again with you to share a little bit of The Crafter’s Workshop inspiration for you.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

As I loved TCW855 Linked Tiles stencil so much last time, I decided to create a page solely dedicated to showing it off. TCW855 Linked Tiles is designed by Rebekah Meier. I have used both the 12×12 and the 6×6 within this video.

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is the page, step-by-step…

I began with a quote torn from a magazine. I glue it down with matte medium

I then randomly paint blue paint around the page, somewhat trying to begin to incorporate the quote into the page.

Next I grab the large sized TCW855 Linked Tile stencil and a baby wipe and remove some of the blue paint. This also transfers some paint, printing the stencil onto the page in sections aswell.

With watered down TCW9002 – black gesso I spray some splats onto the page

Next with the small size of TCW855 Linked Tiles I sponge through a rust red (Sedona by Dina Wakley) randomly around the page.

By mixing TCW9005 – modeling paste and turquoise paint, I create a coloured modeling paste and apply this through TCW5005 Swiss Dot stencil

I dry the page thoroughly, then start sketching out a face within the small void that I can see on the page.

From here I slowly build up the colour within the image and darken the background to further highlight the illustration.

I finalise the page by creating some small flowers within her hair using TCW9001 white gesso and also some small bright green collaged leaves

Hopefully you have enjoyed this walk through of my page.

Have a great day!
