Wonderfully Busy Background – Large Art Tag

Hi there arty friends, and welcome back.

Today I wanted to share a large art tag creation with you that I created for a friend.

*The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some products to create this project. The opinions I share, however, are solely my own. 🙂

I have a full video tutorial for you to view right here:

To start this project you will need to get a large art tag, I used tags from Tim Holtz. Collage on some script words tissue paper. I made my own using TCW851 – Believe script on some tissue paper. Apply this using TCW Matte Gel medium.

Then grab your 2 favorite stencils from TCW that has nice background appropriate patterns. (These are usually not a picture, rather a pattern, and has small close together openings) The two I am using today is: TCW874 – Poppy Grid and TCW876 – Screen view.

Start sponging on some color onto your tag. I used blue, apricot, purple and teal. It should look something like this:

Next I grabbed some Art By Marlene cut outs and blocked out the area I intended to stick the cut out with some white paint, to make the cut out pop against the background.

Adhere the cut out using TCW Matte Gel medium.

I also cut some wings from the Tim Holtz Ideaology collection to add dept to the wings.

The edges gets a good swipe with violet and black archival ink to make it pop more.

Finally I add some Tim Holtz Small Talk quotes to finish this one off.

I hope you had fun joining me today 🙂
