Refresh, Relax and Inspire

As we head into the hectic holiday season, many have thoughts of creating a unique gift for a hostess, a friend or family member. For many, creating a gift from scratch can be overwhelming in terms of time investment. You CAN turn ready made items into something special and unique in just a few hours of time, without breaking the bank as well.

Who doesn’t love a break from the crazy busy lives so many of us live. Creating a an opportunity to refresh and relax for ourselves is a priceless gift. This Spa Set invites the recipient to take that time for themselves and rejuvenate.

You can turn plain towels into one-of-a-kind specialty towels with a strip of ribbon, some fabric acrylic paint, and , of course, a couple of great TCW stencils!

Cut a length of ribbon the width of the towel plus a turn under at the ends if desired. Here I used a combination two stencils, TCW856 Quattro Motifs to create a focal image at the center and TCW853 Circle Tiles to complete the band. Use an acrylic paint that is intended for use on fabric. Make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding drying time, heat setting etc. before laundering your project. Pssst…I’ve used white gesso in a pinch. It DOESN”T wash out…don’t ask how I know that! Lol!

Stitch the ribbon band to the towel and viola, specialty towels at a fraction of the cost!

You can personalize ready-made soaps to coordinate with your towels by stenciling the same motif from the towels onto the soap using Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste. The paste will come off the soap with use but it adds a pretty touch to the soaps at the outset!

A variety of soaps can be brought together to create a set using the same motif on all the soaps.

Add a small jar candle to create that spa ambience. Tie it in to the theme with a stenciled card stock wrap with coordinating stenciling and a jute or ribbon tie.

Add a cute jar of scented bath salts to complete the set. Tie in the salts with a stenciled tag with instructions for the bath salts. Add a ribbon or tie to bring in a touch of color and dress it up a bit.

This gift of relaxation can be packaged in a cute tray with a sprig of greenery and you will be a star guest or gift giver!

The Crafters Workshop provided me with some of the items used in the post but the opinions about these products are entirely my own.
