Hi there crafty friends. 🙂
Today I have a fun, yet simple project to share with you. Some of you might know, that I have recently started work again after being home for over 3 years. Which means less art and a lot more bland. I needed some individualism and color at my desk. Here’s what I did.
*The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some products to create this project. The opinions I share, however, are solely my own. 🙂
I found a set of 3 raw wooden boxes at my local craft store, which I decided would be perfect for holding my pens at the office.

The first thing to do with raw wood would be to prime it. I did this using TCW White Gesso.
Now to add color, I used the stencil TCW876 – Screen view with bright colored Acrylic paint. I off sett the stencil to create a layered look.
I like how busy and bright this is, but I want to add more depth. I grab another stencil, TCW873 – Orb Mandala with a dark blue color and start putting the pattern on each side of the box, at different positions. This makes the box more interesting from different angles.
Now I wanted even more dept, in the form of script. I could stencil it directly onto the box, but I decided to make some collage paper. I used tissue paper and sponged archival ink through TCW541 – Believe Script.
I tear small pieces of the tissue paper off and apply it to my box, adhering it using TCW Matte Gel Medium.
Pops of gold is what I add next, and I do this by applying some gold paint with my fingers to random edges.
The gold is not completely opaque, which means I am not loosing all the beautiful patterns and colors I have created.
Lastly I add my inspirational quote stickers from Tim Holtz. I also add these on different spots around the box. When I rotate the box I can see a different quote each day.
I hope you had fun joining me today for this simple yet fun project, and give this one a go for yourself.
