Stamping Through Stencils – 3 Different Ways

Hi everyone! It’s Lindsay here, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog & YouTube Channel, sharing another video tutorial. Today I wanted to share how to stamp through your stencils to create some really fun backgrounds! And I have 3 different ways and ideas to do it, two of which, you don’t even need stamps! Be sure to watch the tutorial below for all the details.

**THE CRAFTER’S WORKSHOP SENT ME SOME OF THE PRODUCTS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL, HOWEVER, ALL OPINIONS EXPRESSED ARE SOLELY MY OWN! I ONLY DESIGN FOR COMPANIES I STAND BEHIND 100%!**

For my first card I kept it very simple. I started by ink blending onto a card stock panel through the Circle Tiles stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop. Then, while the stencil was still in place, I stamped a background stamp (Crackle from Joy Clair Stamps) through the stencil with a darker color ink. I like to use a more “distressed” looking stamp for this technique so I can repeatedly stamp it until I’m happy with the coverage!

My second project I started in much the same way as the first. I inked up a white card stock panel through the Dash Triangle Stencil. But I didn’t really use “stamp” to stamp through the stencil, instead I used an acrylic block with rubber bands wrapped around it. It’s so simple!!

My third and final project I used one of my favorite and well loved stencils, Leaf Collection. I didn’t do any ink blending to begin with, but I did die cut my own stamps. I used small circle dies and fun foam that you find in the kids craft section! You can attach that foam to an acrylic block with adhesive and use them as stamps!

A few tips to help you with this technique. I used 12×12 stencils for the larger openings, however, 6×6 stencils will work for this technique as well. When ink blending and then stamping on top, be sure to use contrasting colors so they show up well. Finally, have fun and play around with all the different variations you can use for stamping through stencils!!

I hope you all enjoyed the video tutorial today! I have linked all of the TCW products I used down below so you can easily find them. Until next time, Happy Crafting!!
