Hi there Lovelies. Welcome back to the TCW Blog.
Today I am sharing some fun I had with the new stencil release. I have been watching heaps of videos on Creativation 2019 and I loved what Ken Oliver has been doing with his color bursts, so naturally I had to play with mine too.
You can check out the whole process video here:
I Start off my page on my A4 Dylusions journal, and sprinkled some color bursts in green, turquoise and yellow.
Now I have to activate this powder by spraying on some water.
Once it dries, I start working on the background to add more interest. I used TCW832 Script Words by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer with Dina Wakley paint in Peacock.
I am adding another layer of the same stencil in Dylusions Lemon Zest.
Once dried, I applied TCW Black Gesso through TCW831 Faithful Tree by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer.
I just love the result of the striking black gesso on the bright background. TCW Black Gesso is really nice and opaque, dries quickly and is perfectly matte for this!
Next I wanted to add some interest to the ground of the tree, and I love TCW849 Butterfly Reflections by Rebekah Meier, so I applied some TCW Heavy body Acrylic – Spun Sugar with the stencil and LOVED the result.
I added some of the flowers at the bottom of the tree, and this lovely butterfly design in a couple of places.
Now I want to do some doodling in white and black around the background. I used a Posca paint pen and a black sharpie marker.
Lastly, adding finishing touches, by adding a phrase from Idea-ology – Small Talk.
I really loved the result of this page, and all the lovely stencils I got to play with.
I hope you got some inspiration today, to go out and create a page for yourself.
