Hello everyone! It’s Lindsay, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog & YouTube Channel, here today and I have something shiny, sparkly and oh so fun to share with you today!! I made a super fun unicorn birthday card using the “Believe in Unicorns” stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop!! When I was thinking about the design of this card I couldn’t decide between using foil or glitter to add to the stencil design. So what did I do? I added both!!! You can NEVER add to much glitz or shine to a unicorn! You can watch the video tutorial to see how I went about using three different mediums on one CAS card design!!

When creating a card like this, you REALLY need to plan ahead, especially if you are foiling your project with the Hot Foil Gel. For instance, I started with the ink on my project. It’s flat, dries quickly and wouldn’t interfere with the heat foil gel. Next came the heat foil gel. And finally, the Tacky When Dry Gel so I could add some glitter! I had to add the Tacky When Dry Gel last, because I didn’t want it to go through the heated laminator.
Also when planning this card out, be sure to account for drying time for your different mediums. Both the Hot Foil Gel and Tacky When Dry Mediums need time to dry. It doesn’t take very long, about 10 minutes for each.
If you do not have a laminator, you could still make this card, just use the Tacky When Dry Medium twice. The first time, use it in place of the Hot Foil Gel, the foil will still stick to the tacky medium! Then, you can go in with a second layer where the stars are and add glitter or foil to them as well! There are so many great options on how to get the same look and the mediums are a lot of fun to just play around with to see what you can come up with!!
