Witching Hour Art Journal Page by Farrel Tailor

Hi there everyone!! Well it’s almost the weekend and I thought I would share a art journal entry I created whilst on a Scrapbooking Retreat recently. The theme of the retreat was Halloween which is where I got my inspiration from. Make sure you check out my process video as well which is at the end of the blog.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

To begin I started by blending Distress Oxides in Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber, Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet.

Next I used TCW381s Mini Quatrefoil stencil and using a baby wipe, I used the ghosting technique. This technique lifts the top colour off giving a ghost like effect. I also added some flicks of water and pat dried it with a towel.

Then I used a permanent black gel pen to outline parts of TCW790s Micro Bricks.

Next I stenciled TCW723s Scary Web with Distress Oxide ink Black Soot.

I felt like the page needed something else so I went back and used Distress Oxide ink Ground Espresso over TCW790s Micro Bricks.

I used my alcohol markers to colour the stamped images I used. I used Dylusions Two Heads is Better Thank One set and Visible Image stamp set Glimmer of Light. Once I cut them out I used TCW9011 Gel Medium Matte to adhere them to the pages. I also mixed a small amount of TCW9001 White Gesso with some water and splattered onto my pages.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and I can’t wait to show you my next project soon
