Go With Your Heart Art Journal

Hi Everyone and happy Thursday!!! Farrel here today to share an art journal creation of mine using alcohol inks and TCW products. I also have a process video at the end of the blog if you would like to see me in action.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I had previously applied TCW9002 Black Gesso to a page in my art journal which I used for today’s entry. I trimmed my Darkroom Door Synthetic Sheet in the lightweight so that the black gesso was a border around my sheet.

I used TCW809 Ocean Window in both the 12×12 and 6×6 and applied Alcohol Inks through the stencils using a felt blending tool. The colours I used are Pool, Lemonade, Pistachio, Current and Pink. I added some blending solution to the blending tool for the area on the 12×12 stencil.

Once it was all dry, I added some stamping using Darkroom Door stamps and black archival ink. I then applied TCW9049 Tacky When Dry Gel Medium through TCW541s Believe Script 6×6 stencil randomly around my page. I let the gel medium air dry for about 15-20 minutes.

Then I used a sheet of Decofoil in Lapis Watercolor and rubbed over the areas of the stenciled gel medium.

To finish off the page I added my butterfly stamp, sentiment stickers by Tim Holtz and adhered my finished sheet to the art journal page.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, below is the process video.
