Hello there, This is Ujjwal with my first post as a design team member of TCW and I couldn’t be more excited. I created a mixed media canvas measuring 18″ X 24″ using a lot of fabulous mediums and a mix of old and new stencils from TCW. I have a complete step by step tutorial with photos to share with you if you would like to follow.
Disclaimer: The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I started by mixing TCW9017 Lemon Custard Heavy Body Paint and TCW9023 Blue Jellybean Heavy Body Paint to create my own shade of green. I applied the green paint to the canvas using a flat wide brush and also blended in more blue and yellow until I liked how the base looked.
Next, I diluted the TCW9017 Lemon Custard Heavy Body Paint with some water and added some drips and drops of it from the top edge of the canvas to create more interesting texture.
Then I used TCW815 Magnolia Blossoms and TCW824 Growing Wild stencils with TCW9002 Black Gesso and using a sponge dauber added the design on the canvas.
Next, I used some stamps and Black Archival ink to stamp some patterns randomly on the whole canvas and kept building more visual layers.
Next step was to use the TCW191 Stencil Bricks and some TCW9005 Modeling Paste with a spatula to add some more texture.
And then I printed out a couple of butterfly images, colored them with the same colors as my base and used TCW9011 Matt Gel Medium to adhere them to the canvas.
I diluted the TCW9038 Antique Gold Modeling Paste with water until it was runny and then added drips and drops over and around the stenciled brick pattern.
Finally, I added the quote using a mix of stickers and stamps and went over the entire thing with the TCW Matt Gel Medium to seal it.
Here’s a look at the final canvas again
I hope you found this tutorial useful and enjoyed looking at the project today.
I can’t wait to play with all the beautiful TCW supplies again and be back soon to share my creations with you.
