Love Tag by Zoey

Hello Crafters and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today I want to show you how I made this quick and easy Mixed Media Tag using two new Stencils and Mediums.

Supplies needed :

Note: I am a Design Team member for The Crafter’s Workshop; however, even though I use and love their products, all opinions are solely my own.

I started by covering the background with bits and piece of paper and tissue paper. To glue it down I used Matte Gel Medium. I let it dry completely and then I went over the background with a wash of Gesso to tone it down. I let it dry again.

I mixed the Raspberry Sorbet Heavy body Paint with a bit of Matte Gel Medium to make the color slightly transparent. I used a flat brush to apply the color to the background, I let it dry a bit and then I used another bunch of fluo color to color the background. When I was happy with it I set aside to dry.
I used a make up sponge, Spun Sugar and the new Floral Radar Stencil to add a bit of interest into the background.

I also added a couple of stamps here and there. Then I used my all time favorite Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste, the new Two Hearts stencil and with the palette knife I added a thick layer of texture. I let it air dry because I didn’t want any bubbles and I wanted the edge to be defined.

When it was dry I added a bit of Black Licorice heavy paint that I diluted with a lot of water all around the background. This helped me to create a bit of shades. I did the same thing with the Spun Sugar to add some highlights.

To finish it off I added a bunch of pencil marks and I glued down some small die cuts I had laying on my desk. I also added a stickers for my sentiment.

And that’s all for today, here’s some more photo of my project.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
